A MESSY PARTY

We were invited to the most unusual, fun, birthday party ever! It was

This was to celebrate a special 4 year old. Her mother is an OT and used many of her techniques for the special party. It was a child's dream party.
The invitation said it was a Messy Party and to bring a change of clothes. But when I bring a change of clothes for four kids I have to pack a duffel bag full and I figured they could get a little bit wet in the sprinklers.
When we first got there we were given aprons and protective eye wear. I thought the glasses were cute and maybe just a fun stylish new look for the kids.
The kids got right to work fishing, playing in Spaghetti and search for plastic insects and lizards, Bubbles with a string tied in a circle that actually worked.

This is a painting wall. They purchased a large piece of plastic at Home Depot, screwed it on a fence and put a rain gutter underneath. Lots of different kinds of paintbrushes and colors paint and even squeegees and sponges to erase.

The last and final mess zone was playing in shaving cream. Now I have had my kids play in shaving cream before..... you know your hands up to your elbows and maybe a dot on your nose.
Nothing prepared me for this very MESSY Party. There was a reason the hostess requested a change of clothes and protective eye wear......
She put a large tarp on the grass and sprayed unsuspecting children with tons of shaving cream. Most of the kids were delighted, some were very confused and the parents were shocked! The kids all got into it in their own way. Some slipped and covered every inch of their bodies others started with just their toes and eased their way in to the fun.

I think my oldest had the most fun!

What a creative party theme.
We ended by getting them all sprayed down and dried with a towel. Sang Happy Birthday to our sweet friend and enjoyed a cupcake outside. As we were collecting all are stuff a group of dads were laughing how it looked like a college frat party clean up. The mess was intense, we were warned and we had a great time!
When I was putting my younger daughter to bed we were talking about the party and all the mess that was created. I said wow nothing was  forgotten for that party and she said, "A food fight!"
Well yes she is right but I'm afraid some parents would not be ok with that too! hahaha
Thanks for the fun Camille!
